課程概述 |
This required seminar course is designed to help doctoral students cultivate their abilities to conduct research independently through literature searches, reviews, critiques, presentations, and discussions. |
|
課程目標 |
After completing this course, students should be able to:
(1) Search for relevant literature.
(2) Critically appraise the literature.
(3) Complete a literature review independently.
(4) Give oral presentations, make comments, and respond to questions. |
|
課程要求 |
1. Three oral presentations are required for students who are registered for this course.
(1) First presentation: Present and critique an original article from an open access journal, which includes the reviewers’ comments and authors’ responses.
(2) Second presentation: Present and critique a review article.
(3) Third presentation: Present a literature review that you complete by yourself.
2. Presenting students should email their presentation files to the three course instructors by 12 noon on Tuesday of the week when they are scheduled to present, and should prepare a paper copy of the slides for each of the course instructors on the day of their presentations.
3. All participating students should show up in class on time, actively engage in discussions, and fill out an online feedback form after class.
4. Students who are registered for this course are required to upload their own literature review (5-10 pages; font size 12) to CEIBA no later than 6/20/2018 (Wednesday). |
